Actually i need your help about annealing condition. The initial grain size of 6061 is ~1 micrometer (after deformation)and i want to know the annealing temperature and time to get grain size more than 100 micrometer. if you have any experience about this, could you share with me? thank you
6061 Al alloy consistst of several components. It's melting temperature is (depending on composition appr. 650C. If you are willing to substantially increase the size of the grains - you should add SI-component - so that it's concentration exceed 1-1.5%
(normally Si conc. is about 0.4-0.8%. BUT Si - is the most important component for 6061 casting !

In this case, annealing process is a pre-treatment, i should not modify the composition. is there any other way to get the result (example by modifying temperature and annealing time)?
