Dear all,
I'm currently working on a survey article. One of the very first steps to do is to find a taxonomy for this topic. Since this is the first survey article that I have ever started working on, this is not clear for me what is the best approach to find a taxonomy for a research topic? According to Scopus, I have around 250 published articles relevant to the topic.
Is there any shortcuts not to read bunch of articles? It does eat my time and I do not have enough productivity by this approach :'(

I have always believed one should develop his or her taxonomy first (start to finish) and then see if there are any taxonomies out there. If none are out there, you have a good chance to write up your taxonomy and send it to a peer-reviewed journal for consideration of publication.

1) classification of the journal
2) Name of Authors, Order of them importance

As a general thoughts, below are some steps may help.
Step 1:
It is important for you to answer for the following questions before you start writing a taxonomy:
What I want to accomplish in this taxonomy?
What new you are going to add on previous taxonomies in the same field?
Do I have a predefined (new) model for classification of the sub-topic in this field?
Who will benefit from this?
Step2:
Start reviewing published taxonomies in the same field.
Step2:
Come with something different (a model). It may focuses on a very specific topic in your field.
Step3:
Classify the publication according to your suggested model
Step4:
Look where you want to publish? Rank and Requirements.
Step5:
Start with most related paper, and focus what on related work in the same paper.
