I am trying to model fish movement by Fishmove Package in R. There is a formula that works in this package and has tow main factor. One is mobile component of of a fish population and the second is stationary part. I know that mobile component is the part of population that migrates through river of other aquatic sources, such as estuaries of seas ( If I was right). My problem is that I can not find out what is the stationary part? It is well known that fish move and swim in it's habitat. So How it could be stable? Anyone has a clue?

Whenever I've modeled fish movements it usually involves a probability matrix, a matrix containing the probabilities of moving from one habitat to the next, etc. Often times the probability of staying in a habitat is just 1-p(moving). I'm not familiar with Fishmove package, but the probability of not moving is likely a derived quantity from the probability of moving.

Thanks for your comment. It helped a lot. I find out that the difference between these two items is the probability (probability of population movement or stable).
Do you use R for fish movement modelling? If yes what packages do you use?

Studies of stream salmonids often identify a fraction of the population with a very localised home range (stationary) and a fraction that moves between multiple focal areas (mobile) (eg Diana, J. S., Hudson, J. P., & Clark Jr, R. D. (2004). Movement patterns of large brown trout in the mainstream Au Sable River, Michigan. Transactions of the American Fisheries Society, 133(1), 34-44; Steingrímsson, S. Ó., & Grant, J. W. (2003). Patterns and correlates of movement and site fidelity in individually tagged young-of-the-year Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar). Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, 60(2), 193-202.)
However, to some extent it is a matter of scale, and even stationary fish may be mobile (Steingrímsson, S. Ó., & Grant, J. W. (2008). Multiple central‐place territories in wild young‐of‐the‐year Atlantic salmon Salmo salar†. Journal of Animal Ecology, 77(3), 448-457), but there is much variation among individuals (MacLean, A., Huntingford, F. A., Ruxton, G. D., Morgan, I. J., Hamilton, J., & Armstrong, J. D. (2005). Testing the assumptions of the ideal despotic distribution with an unpredictable food supply: experiments in juvenile salmon. Journal of Animal Ecology, 74(2), 214-225.).
And of course, at a larger scale, there may a be a "mobile" fraction that migrates to sea and a "stationary" fraction that remains in a river.
Therefore, I would suggest stating the scale of interest before deciding on the ratio of mobile:stationary fish.
