It is called reflective teaching or reflective practice in teaching. In this activity the classroom teacher think about his/her own teaching to evaluate it. It can be done by teachers individually by recording a lesson to reflect on or by asking a colleague to monitor the lesson and share ideas and evaluation with the reflective teacher.

Reflective practice is an approach to teaching and learning in which the teacher and learners are constantly examining their own practice and treating educational situations as opportunities for learning and growth. Donald Schon, as far as I know, is the scholar who popularized the terms back in the 1980s. His work is worth checking out because it is commonly cited by others even now. It discusses theoretical models as well as practical application.
