One needs to know the relationship between the nature of pollution and its impact. regardless of the type of pollution. in other words, we want a synthesis of the pollution and the impact (s) generated.
Pollution may be air, water and soil. These have lot of impacts on the human life. Air we breath, water we drink and food we eat., where there is contamination of toxic chemicals leading to cancer of the bones, skin, longs etc. Sound pollution may have significant on human heart & nervous system.
Pollution is a degradation of the environment whatever its physical, chemical or biological nature. It has an impact on the physiology and behavior of the organisms exposed or on the characteristics of the biotopes consequently on the composition and the structure of the populations.
Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural environment that cause adverse change. Pollution can take the form of chemical substances or energy, such as noise, heat or light. Pollutants, the components of pollution, can be either foreign substances/energies or naturally occurring contaminants. Pollution is often classed as point source or nonpoint source pollution.
Impact: It makes the world unfit for living for all living-beings.
A great subtlety between pollution and contamination.
Contamination contaminates where pollution degrades. A contaminant may be classified as a pollutant based on, inter alia, its amount in the environment, potential toxicity, bioavailability, and interaction with the environment.
Thus Pollution is the introduction of a harmful substance to the environment and is usually caused by people
Contamination is when an undesired material or impurity is in something.
A pollutant is an agent that may be of a physical, chemical or biological nature causing ecotoxicological effects. The subtlety between polluting and contaminating words requires some attention because a contaminant is an element that has been added into a medium. A pollutant can be a contaminant if it does not fit as a base element in an ecosystem or environment.
The term pollution refers to the act of contaminating ones environment by introducing certain hazardous contaminants that disturb the ecosystem and directly or indirectly affect the living organisms of that ecosystem. Pollution in general is the activity of disturbing the natural system and balance of an environment.
The increase in the pollution over the years by man has caused severe damage to the earth’s ecosystem. It is responsible for global warming which is leading to the end if all the lives on earth. Over the years there is an extreme increase in the rate of human diseases, and death rate of various animals and plants on earth, and that is all because of the pollution caused by man himself.
There are many types of pollution, but four of them have the most perilous affect on our lives. Following are the four most dangerous types of pollution and their causes:
Air Pollution
Soil Pollution
Water Pollution
Noise Pollution"...

Pollution denotes the presence of impurities like dirt, silt, organic matter, mineralos, acidity, alkalinity and objectionable colour, odour or taste. Although pollution is not necessarily a health hazard, always, it is either accompanied by contamination which is a health hazard. - Textbook of Social and preventive Medicine, Thanks to Dr. M. Raghavia and Dr. V. Sundari, Annamalai university
As more and more people move into cities and towns, a number of factors cause pollution:
1- the physical disturbance of land due to construction of houses, industries, roads, etc.;
2- chemical pollution from industries, mines, etc.;
3- inadequate sewage collection and treatment;
4- increase in fertilisers to grow more food. This results in an increase in nutrients (nitrates and phosphates) in the water which causes enhanced plant growth (algal blooms). When this plant material dies and decays the bacteria uses the oxygen in the water. This lowering of oxygen levels results in the death of other water life that needs oxygen to survive, eg. fish, etc. This process is called eutrophication;
5- litter, which causes disease and has a negative visual impact.
There are many other causes of pollution such as
Deforestation
Damming of Rivers
Destruction of Wetlands
Industries
Mining
Agriculture
Energy Use
Accidental Water Pollution."...

Pollution is the effect of undesirable changes in our surroundings that have harmful effects on plants, animals and human beings. This occurs when only short-term economic gains are made at the cost of long-term ecological benefits for humanity.
Pollution of the environment is usually defined as the contamination of the environment. there are different types of pollution which are air, water and soil pollution. Meaning each of these media (air, water and soil) can be contaminated by action and interaction of human activities and industrial activities with these media. Best regards.
Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural nvironment that causes adverse change.
Major forms of pollution include: Air pollution, light pollution, littering, noise pollution, plastic pollution, soil contamination, radioactive contamination, thermal pollution, visual pollution, water pollution.
Effects
Human health
An October 2017 study by the Lancet Commission on Pollution and Health found that global pollution, specifically toxic air, water, soils and workplaces, kill nine million people annually, which is triple the number of deaths caused by AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria combined, and 15 times higher than deaths caused by wars and other forms of human violence. The study concluded that "pollution is one of the great existential challenges of the Anthropocene era. Pollution endangers the stability of the Earth’s support systems and threatens the continuing survival of human societies.
Environment
Pollution has been found to be present widely in the environment. There are a number of effects of this:
· Carbon dioxide emissions cause ocean acidification.
· The emission of greenhouse gases leads to global warming which affects ecosystems in many ways.
· Invasive species can out compete native species and reduce biodiversity..
· Nitrogen oxides are removed from the air by rain can change the species composition of ecosystems.
· Smog and haze can reduce the amount of sunlight received by plants
· Soil can become infertile and unsuitable for plants. Sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides can cause acid rain which lowers the pH value of soil.
· Organic pollution of watercourses can deplete oxygen levels and reduce species diversity.
Water, air and agricultural land are getting polluted and are very harmful to human health. We can say our future is in Danger and difficult to survive.
