Recently, one international scholar advised me that big data and Big data Analytics are same, can be interchangeable. I do not believe so. Big data is the most general concept for most general people, resulted in the early 2000's and officially considered as a field for research and development in 2010's. It is continuously hot in these days. It should be at the same level to the Internet of things, and digital transformation, although they have close interrelationships.

Big data can be considered at fundamental level, technological level and socio-economic level. For detail, see my upcoming research papers.

Big data analytics is a science and technology, like, mathematics and physics, taking into account big data as a background.

Big data analytics can be considered as a scientific and technological integration of data warehouse, data mining, data management, data visualization, statistical modelling, and optimization. For detail, see my publications available here.

Next step is intelligent big data analytics, it is a scientific and technological integration of big data analytics and artificial intelligence. It is at the center of the age of big data, analytics and artificial intelligence. For detail see my publications available on the web.

Finally, I am editing a book on this topic. I will announce it officially soon.
