But teachers have a very difficult task today, they have to compete with all technologies and available resources outside school. So teachers have to propose tasks that are meaningful for their students and make sense when they have to realize them. There are not one receipt for that, it depends on several factors, such as: students themselves, environment, subject matter, etc.

Learner engagement is vital in ensuring students' motivation and interest in the classroom. Technological tools can be supplementary pedagogical considerations to promote students' learning. 

We teachers in our Institute have adopted a policy which is cyclic, named learning-teaching-learning, here, teachers will learn by referring books/journals/Net etc.., they then teach to students, which facilitates learning  by students. 

Teachers should uses a variety of instructional strategies to persuade students’ development of decisive thinking, problem solving, recital skills and understand their approach of learning and creates instructional opportunities that are adapted to diverse learners and creates learning experience that make these aspects of subject matter consequential  for students.

*** Here in Brasil it's teachers’ day today. So, I congratulate all researchers who believe in teaching and in learning, in enhancing abilities, in developing critical thinking, in sharing knowledge, in believing in human beings as live-learning-constructions.***

My contribution to effective teaching-learning is not a method, but a suggested model. My pursuit is to achieve the following definition about learning: "learning is a knowledge building and meaning construction process which is constructive, cumulative, monitored, goal oriented, collaborative, situated, different from person to person " in:

I teach reading and writing advanced practices for academic genres and I always start with reading lessons to shorten students' path. I have developed a heuristic model for teaching reading throughout my professional life following both Applied Linguistics studies (therefore, I try and keep the scientific terms of the researches I have studied) and my students own development. In the model I propose, there are some basic heuristic steps that a teacher can follow according to her/his decision/needs. This heuristic model for reading classes requests changes in classroom roles towards collaborative learning: teachers as questioner; students to do the effort to understand while answering to the teacher's questions. Teacher helps individually differences in learning by adding further questions. This model can be used in ANY reading classes (of any subject, I mean).

Before preparing the reading classes, the teacher prepares questions s/he will use to take students understand the authors idea. My suggested model:

-       Pre-reading

-       Global or superstructural reading

-       Reading objective (stated by the teacher)

-       Main ideas or macrostructural reading

-       Detailed or microstructural reading

-       Critical reading

Students’ learning needs change over time, hence, there is no such thing as best teaching-learning method in the teaching-learning process. But then, the use of a variety of discerned most suitable teaching methods in that very particular situation can accommodate a wide range of learning styles and learning rates, hence, is likely to give best learning results. In a constructivist's perspective, a teaching-learning method becomes effective only when it facilitates the attainment of outcomes in education and leads to practical, observable, and valuable learning results.
