I have been trying to work on a project which requires complete dissolution of Cerium acetate in a solvent, but i have been unsuccessful so far, I have tried water, acetone, ethanol and Diethyl ether, but it is simply not dissolving, a hazy solution is formed in ethanol, but after sometime, cerium acetate percipitates at the bottom, any help would be appreciated TIA
Fundamentally, water is a suitable solvent to dissolve cerium acetate. However, cerium acetate is only moderately water soluble. Probably, the concentration that you tried to obtain was too high. At a temperature of 25°C (77°F) you can make a solution of up to 1 percent cerium acetate in water.
It is also possible to solve cerium acetate in strong mineral acids (e.g., hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid).
The mentioned organic solvents are not suitable.

H2SO4 dissolve Cerium acetate /sulphate easily, first dissolve it in a small amount of concentrated H2SO4 and then add required amount of distilled water.

Dissolution of cerium acetate is the only issue then you can try appropriate solvent from the above research fellows. From my practical aspect, cerium acetate with oleic acid (carboxylic acid group) with 110°C reflux help to dissolve cerium acetate ( more viscous containing OH- groups). It is easily dispersed organic solvents like toluene or ether etc. However, it depend on your synthesis situation.
