In any academic context, there should be a quality assurance and relevance system to evaluate quality and relevance regularly. Factors such us teaching, research, community engagement and academic governance often influenced by external factors. COVID 19 for example disrupted face to face instructions to online instruction which required skills in computing. An old Professor should be re trained to handle Technology etc.
President of Hewlett- Packard, Fortune (1985,) argues that in today’s competitive environment, ignoring the quality management issue is tantamount to corporate suicide. Thus, colleges/Universities should continually meeting trainee needs or what it takes to satisfy the trainee or simply fitness for purpose.
In Helene Giroux’s article on management fashions (2006) added that if quality is perceived as merely meeting technical specification only mediocre results will be achieved. Yes, l agree with Mr Hermann Gruenwald ....to avoid mediocre training all colleges/Universities should be accredited by reputable institutions
As the privatisation of Higher Education increases, it will proceed to lower down the quality.
The one where the economic resources, are destined to the investigation to improve the teaching and the application of new knowledge in new technologies. Also to improve the performance of teachers and university employees.
Key performance indicators (KPI) can be fixed for institutes for internal check
Accreditation from external agencies can be external check
Quality Management System (QMS) is about maximizing the ability of the University/college towards sustainable and quality training delivery. QMS should consistently deliver sustainable products and services into the present and future needs of learners. Nevertheless, Quality Assurance, Quality Audit and Quality Control are elements of QMS.

Universities must work to obtain higher levels of quality, the adoption of a quality management system can help improve the performance of their key processes: undergraduate and graduate teaching, research and university extension.
