I think that a sociometric test works for kids K.8. Through a sociometric test you can discover, describe and evaluate social status and structure, and can measure the acceptance or rejection felt between peers. Subjects within a group are usually asked to pick members that they like or prefer working with, depending on the context (i.e. if the subjects are school children or work colleagues.
Thanks to everyone who has responded. Most of the studies that I have read have used locally created surveys to conduct the test. I was wondering whether there is a study instrument or survey that has a more proven reliability rating. I could write a survey for my study, but I am not sure whether the academic community would accept the reliability of a study without a proven instrument.
Colleagues of mine have a paper on the reliability of paper-and-pencil vs. computerized assessment of sociometric nominations:
van den Berg, Y. H., & Cillessen, A. H. (2013). Computerized sociometric and peer assessment An empirical and practical evaluation. International Journal of Behavioral Development, 37(1), 68-76.

This might be helpful in supporting the point that digital assesment of sociometry is reliable.
