@Singh what I meant by node functionality is the ability of the node to communicate with a given node on the network.
What are the indicators that can be used in determining whether a node is capable of communicating with another node.
The following parameters can be used to find the node functionality in terms of interaction with other nodes in the network.
1. Distance between node and its neighbors.
2.Remaining energy, buffer, bandwidth and queue length.
3.Selfishness
4. Participating with trustworthy and untrustworthy nodes.
5. Received signal strength
We can use the RSSI to estimate distance between the nodes. (5) and (1) together is one point. What do you mean by (4). @ Karthik Narasimman
Trust management schemes are used by sensor nodes to find the trustworthy neighbors before communication.
