Given the limited availability of computing resources for an AI system, instead of attempting to achieve artificial general intelligence, where machines’ intellectual capabilities match or surpass all aspects of human cognitive abilities, it’s more likely that superintelligence would take place in another form we’re not used to that is more concentrated in terms of scope of intelligence and would take place within a limited duration of time through which the machine exploits all of its resources to achieve such intelligence. Such a form of superintelligence could be simulated and made use of by humans.
