I have read that the student's group size for cooperative or collaborative learning is from 4 to 10, is it true?

The size of group for collaborative and cooperative learning should be as small as possible as it provide scope for independent participation where as in large group few students have the scope of not to participate in the group.
5 is the ideal number of students for collaborative learning.

I think that very small groups are as bad as big groups. For us groups of 6 students are the best. No more than 8 no less than 4.
Our practice shows that the less the better. 3-4 is optimal. Maximum 5.
