In some articles related to numerical methods, the terminology of "a priori" is always appeared. For example, some conditions are satisfied a priori . What does it mean? Thank you
A priori means a knowledge or a result, known before you actually do any computation or analysis. Put it simply, something which is straight forward and can easily be concluded. If I say an explicit scheme should be conditionally stable,is known a priori.
Thank you for your reply. Your explanation is accordant with my understanding. But I am uncertain whether it is correct or not. Your confirmation is very helpful
A priori in the context of content analysis is the application of a predetermined code, rather than a code than emerges from the analysis of the data. Effectively it is like a template/ framework of information and you analyse your data or transcript to find evidence of the predetermined code.
