We are currently working on a project to find out the interaction between Landuse, transportation, environment and climate change. Please feel free to share your opinion regarding the topic.
There is a nexus between land use, transportation, environment and climate change. For instance, global/landscape based tranformations of natural vegetation into various land uses such as agriculture, settlements, plantations and mining can trigger considerable loss of land cover, leading to sedimentation and frequent floods. Sedimentation result in loss of fertility and primary productivity. Both sedimentation and floods can negatively impact on transportation systems by washing away and clogging roads, waterways....respectively.
