As to my knowledge and experience that one should have the interest in compiling the Chapter for the Theme of the book at first.

The content cohesiveness in all the chapter by chapter that link must be exposed with the Theme of the Book.

Of course, finding the appropriate Publishers is main component but the Author has to have the clear knowledge construction and flow of information from chapter to chapter will create interest to the readers.

All the Citations have to be annotated in lucid way. All the Citations should appear in the internet.

Formating the Citations are more important to identify the References in the styles of MLA

or APA because most if the authors used to suffer in the alignment at the end.

It can be a single or joint authors that is no matter how far the book compilation, assembling, coherence, meaningful etc have to be considered while Publishing a Book.

Are references be considered as duplicate? Then what is the importance of using reference? I think reference are used to exhibit the same notion highlighting the previous work. Best wishes.

I would start with the question why you want to publish. It is a hard work. If it because you have some to share that no one else has or because you want to make money you have to ask who will be interested in your work? These lead to the actions that you need to take. If you have material that other wrote consider this adventure as waste of time. I wrote 5 books and for each of them it was slightly different reason. I wrote book on fluid mechanics because I did not like the common presentation. I did not realized that I will make so many discoveries in the process. I have very strong competition but as google search can indicate my book is very popular. I wrote about on ship stability because it was suppose to summer project for my kids. I did not realize that I will make revolution by writing it. I wrote a book on compressible flow because I need material to provide to my clients and it grow from there.

About the mechanics of writing such are a citation and etc. If you indeed plant to write your book. Do yourself a favor and study LaTeX. It will save you a lot of problem since all can be automated and change on the fly. I do not have any good idea about the publisher. Many of them approach me and some of them publish my books on their own. USA government spend millions to publish my books and I have involvement in this. It is important question but it tie to previous questions.
