Humanitarian logistics is not new but seldom being mentioned in most of the logistics and supply chain operations. But recent incidents such as earth quake and tsunami could be strategically being studied as a SAR operations planning and not necessarily a military or enforcement agencies. Cases such as earthquake in Taiwan, Korea and Japan are the best examples of how important and stressful indeed for the business to move around in the supply chain. But this mostly never being stressed or even mentioned in the higher learning institutes as part of the important logistics and supply chain support elements beside focusing on the manufacturing and global business.
