What do you think the killer application will be for 60GHz and frequencies above that?
Wireless uncompressed video? Wireless Gigabit Ethernet for general networking around e.g. a conference room? Ultra-fast downloads of movies at a POS terminal? Cable less HDMI communication etc?
In my opinion 60 GHz can be an ultra high-speed substitute for bluetooth or PErsonal Area networks. This technology would be used synchronize different gadgets or exchange very large files between them, for a short range , low-cost, high-speed wireless interface. Eventually this would be replacing cable communication like (USB, HDMI, etc.). So with 60 GHz we would be moving toward a practical WIRE-LESS world. Also this could be a potential candidate for communication in IoT(Internet of things and machine to machine communications) which is an application of Wireless Sensor Networks.
