I am doing research on the composition of garnets in the leucosome and melanosome and would like to know the implication of unzoned garnets in high grade terranes. Does this mean that the composition of garnets in both the leucosome and melanosome is the same throughout?

First, It is important to know garnet generations in both melanosome and leucosomes. In melanosomes, garnet should be residual from metamorphism and could be un-zoned in high diffusion rate (as Yardley 1977). But in leucosome, it is possible that some garnets are new and crystalized from melt. So, I recommend you to use any fabric and compositional evidences to separate (possible) different generations.
