Within geological studies, there are several things can Sentinel-2 be employed in. Sentinel-2 has several bands that cover the (0.9 µm) iron absorption features, which can be combined to many applications, including geological mapping with high resolution that could use hyperspectral images, as well!.
Yet, 2A-B need more investigations! & I fellow any update atm.
Spectrally, there is not much difference, but spatially, S-2 provides better resolution. This could help to get better signature from the minerals allowing better geological mapping.
I'm agree with Dr. Ali and Sita. These different IR bands need for further exploration but also you can be more specific due to the 10x10m pixel of Sentinel2. However there is several manuscripts about it.
