I am investigating the low-order harmonic generation from different molecular excited states. Can the vector correlation effects play a role ?

It will be good if you can explain what u mean by "vector correlation"......maybe you can use a simple example related to the problem you are trying to solve. At this stage I can't answer directly, but there may be links between quantum tomography and these correlations, and perhaps this might provide a link to what you are seeking. Hope this is at least of some help.
Suppose you mean that your different molecular excitations may have a relation which is manageable in a structure of vectors.
My way of thinking is that you can make a vector out of your molecular excitations if they have a real and physical true relation (one atom, one energy level).
A vector is a genuine mathematical structure which only get's sense if you find a relation between all his elements.
But then this idea is very usable!
