Good day all,
Based on my question, I came across aqua regia (ISO 11466.3) digestion method (involving HCl and HNO3), USEPA 3050B (involving HCI, HNO3, H202). Besides that, there is also the EPA 3052 digestion method (mimics the 3050B method but involves the usage of microwave).
According to my understanding, both the aqua regia and 3050B method can be used for soil, sediments and sludges and both are effective. I found a journal comparing these methods (attached). However, it does not cover the heavy metal of my interest.
My other concern is, is the 3050B digestion method suitable to digest plant parts such as roots and grains for further analysis using ICP-MS?
I highly appreciate anyone who has had experience digesting plant materials or can offer to help in suggesting a validated method for my reference?
Thank you in advance.
