Slotless motors will be having more torque density when compared to slotted BLDC motor,We can increase the remanant flux density of the permanant magnets used to improve the torque density

As you mentioned, slotless brushless motors have not as much torque density compared to slotted machines. Motor manufacturers increases torque density by using high magnetic field magnets and increasing rotor diameter (i.e. in servo pancake motor). The technique to control slottless servo motors is Field Oriented Control.
