i am working to develop a strategy for establishment of seed potato system in my country (Eritrea). so do you have any idea that i can develop the strategy
The main factor for strategy seed potato production are the following
1. Adapted potato varieties to your condition
2. Sustainable avail of quality and quantity plating materials
3. Market linkage between seed producer and tuber producer
The next step is to make sure that the seed potatos have a high quality at planting time or at least a higher quality than left over potatoes that are at the farm of the tuber producer. This means the single varieties need to be strictly separated, the planting tuber must be free of diseases and virus infections and undamaged.
