Dear all, thanks for your response. I am looking mainly looking for carbon and nitrogen. is it fine to go for oven drying of leaf at 105 degree Celcius? if not then what's the proper method? are there any widely used methods for C and N?
For drying, oven drying at 50°C (upto 48 hrs) seems perfect. For analysis CHNS analyser is appropriate. Common methods are available for organic carbon and ammoniacal nitrogen. But for total quantification with accuracy you should try CHNS.
Thanks Sutanu, I totally agree with your point. However, won't there be any nitrogen loss at higher temperatures? Do you know any references in this matter?
