What are the standard methods to analyse nutrients CNS and metal ions in grass? Any links please...
The analytical methods will remain the same or else , will they vary so much as per type of plant sample like grasses..??
For CNS, CHNS analyser is the best option for better accuracy. For major ions you can try Flame Photometer or for a wide range you should try ICP-MS.
Dear all, thanks for your response. I am looking mainly looking for carbon and nitrogen. is it fine to go for oven drying of leaf at 105 degree Celcius? if not then what's the proper method? are there any widely used methods for C and N?
For drying, oven drying at 50°C (upto 48 hrs) seems perfect. For analysis CHNS analyser is appropriate. Common methods are available for organic carbon and ammoniacal nitrogen. But for total quantification with accuracy you should try CHNS.
