I am working with regulators in conducting my research. The objectives of my research is exploratory in nature, and the only method that I am afford to do at this moment is in-depth semi-structured interviews. Few interviews went well, but in a particular case, a regulator (sort of) dictates me to conduct "objective" focus group discussions among similar regulators due to change of their work priorities. "Objective" in a sense that the questions are selected by the regulators. It is truly a dilemma since I need to explain to the regulators what are the difference between these two and the implication to my research results.

Thank you, appreciate your feedback on this.
