Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) cover a wide range of applications where WSN nodes can be static, deployed in a static environment or the nodes can be mobile even deployed in a dynamic environment. The question is if there are some surveys on fading in WSNs, possibly based on empirical results.
The existance of line of sight (LOS) between WSN nodes is application dependant.

Best preferred is the lognormal model as it is designed for low turbulence. you could even use gamma gamma channel model.
