India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 introduced several transformative reforms in teacher education that act as catalysts for systemic change. These include the introduction of a four-year integrated B.Ed. program, mandatory accreditation and regulation of teacher education institutions, emphasis on experiential and multidisciplinary learning, and continuous professional development through digital platforms like DIKSHA. Collectively, these reforms aim to elevate the quality, status, and preparedness of teachers in India.
