I am writing a paper on "change management - needs and its effectiveness in schools". I am from Jharkhand, India and I have observed that there are always objections in every sphere of life and this is a global phenomenon. I wish to ponder upon the reasons for such objections which at times is just for the sake of objections. Does this have any root connection with our education system, teachers, and student?
The psychological factors of resistance to change processes in the education sector are: lack of skills, lack of conviction, lack of willingness to innovate, etc.
Psychological factors do not explain all resistance to change. Sociological resistance, which has to do with the interests, values, and norms of groups, must be factored in. There is also logical (or rational) resistance, which owes to the short-run costs that must be borne for people to genuinely adjust. (The foregoing assumes the proposed change is well-founded.)
