According to me the most important problem that farmers are facing in the north eastern region of India due to COVID-19, is that of lack of funds in agriculture. Moreover, due to the slow growth rate of the economy during this period, there is a shortage of demand of agricultural goods. No advancement of technology has been seen during this period and the increase in the prices of the agricultural machinery is also another problem that is bothering them.
The supply chain system has been disturbed and that is creating a lot of problem by giving rise to middlemen. This is leading to a price hike of agricultural products.
To sum up, farmers in the north east part of India are facing economical and technological problems due to COVID-19.
There is no proper cooperation from the government..they are not getting support price from the government. Really pathetic situations for the farmers.
Farmers in North-East are mainly facing the problem of marketing of their produce particularly small and marginal farmers. During Covid-19 farmers were unable to sell their harvested produce due to lock down. Now also inter-state movement of produce are not totally free and produce are not getting remunerative prices in some pockets as demand-supply mismatch. Even processing industries are not fully operational leaving the farmers in distress.
