Thank you Martin. Could u please tell if we can produce sufficient lift to fly a single passenger by a Quad-copter toy plane type of arrangement? Going by similitude design what would be the expected size?
you shoudl do some research, e.g. by looking at rotor loadings of helicopters. Also check out the E-VOLO vehicle, which shows what size is needed. - Martin
I would like to add few points in addition to Mr. Martin regarding second part of your question. Servo operated micro jets can be used for some sort of spontaneous directional control, dive and climb. But they cannot provide sufficient lift for the aircrafts to sustain the flight during adverse conditions. Every flight has certain flying altitude based on the lift requirements (balance the aircraft) as density (play a role on lift) reduces with increase in altitude. Certainly quad-copter plane will be able to fly with more than one passenger. You need to design (scaled up prototype) the quad-copter (thrust rating) which could able to lift plane with passenger. Presently lot of research is going on aerial robot with quad rotors around the world.
Thank you Sir. Suppose I design one such aerial vehicle, would I have to have a license for flying or something like that. Legal issues? in that case it would be a bad idea to proceed in this direction..
