I finished my experimental work and got results. before going to write the result & discussion part of a research article, what are the preliminary steps or points to be considered? tips needed from experts to write the result & discussion part.
I heartily suggest you to read the "Guide to Science Writing:Research Manuscripts and Review Articles" (please see attached document). It is a document written for the UCLA Undergraduate Science Journal, but exactly because of this I found it concise, short and easy to follow.
I think that some of the tips being provided there are mostly applicable to the writing for publications for whatsoever journal, beyond that one in scope, as I found the recommendations provided here within a good number of other guidelines for authors or documents about academic writing.
The part replying to your question is from page 6 to page 8.
This document contains not only recommendations for aptly presenting results and discussions, but also the common mistakes to be avoided.
I have also other materials at hand, if you are curios to read more about it.
