Quandles and racks are algebraic structures referred to in knot theory. Are there links to thorough introductions for researchers in how they are used in physics research?

Each birack (hence a rack) provides a solution of the set-theoretic Yang-Baxter equation. Furthermore, one can define the homology theory for set-theoretic Yang-Baxter equation, which is a generalized version of the rack homology.
