There is need to explore the patterns(dimensions) and consequences (results) of practicing Information Ethics by Librarians and other Information professionals all over the world.
Agreed. A quick search in Google Scholar reveals much open content related to this topic.
To find researchers involved in investigating information ethics practice and implications, I would start by looking at ifla.org -- International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions -- for foundational documents, and delve deeper into their Committee on Freedom of Access to Information and Freedom of Expression (FAIFE). IFLA and its committees publish a lot of content, and they produce webinars, as well.
Agreed with all answers before. I am not as concerned about the information ethics of Information Professionals as well as of all other people working wth information. Every profession is becoming a data or information dependent profession. Ethics will be of the utmost importance in operating business processes. So, wouldn't an interesting question be how the information ethics of information professionals and other professional match or not match? It would be interesting to know which dimensions can be identified in both their ethics. Do these different dimensions effect the way they are working with information?
