I am a PhD student. The object of my thesis is "Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio". It consists of resolving optimization problems that exist in Spectrum Sensing Technique in CR. More Specifically Energy and feature detection. Any comments regarding this?
One of the optimization problem in spectrum sensing is the throughput or Secondary user spectrum utilization. An other problem of optimization could be the cost of cooperation in cooperative spectrum sensing. Among spectrum sensing technique the error probability could be a problem to be minimized.
Some recurring optimization problems could be: throughput maximization, goodput maximization, spectral efficiency maximization, outage probability minimization, sensing duration minimization, etc.

Thanks for the reply but I know all the points which you have mentioned above. It would be more helpful if you take any one expertise point and describe in detail, so that It would be more convenient to approach. And also give reference of some highly cited paper in that field.
@Kishore appreciate your effort and reply here, my concern is about the how to simplify the computational methods on cyclostationary sensing method or much better methods under research if you are known ... waiting your reply ..thx again!
