I would like to get some feedback from students on what are some of the things which they like in a teacher.
Any suggestions or comments from regular university students would be highly appreciated.

Easy going and smiling teacher.believe me half of the confidence increase if your teacher is always ready to answer with ease.
Abrahim - apologies for 'butting in here'. I'm not a student - but I have a list of the qualities that I believe (and from personal feedback) are appreciated by my students. These being:
- Honest
- Open
- Fair-minded
- Approachable
- Constructive
- Knowledgeable
I like Mamta's response - and would add to that in a way by saying that student's seem to appreciate a good sense of humour - as long as it is appropriate and respectful.
Another most important and critical point is that "teacher who never uses abusive language for his/her students" under any circumstances. Nowadays, it's very common that many teachers use abusive language to punish their students. We should remember that students are our future assets.
Al salam alekom, From what I think its look clearly that every student is another then another student that's mean every student like and respect a teacher for another reason. For me I like to see a teacher that put an effort for his students and to be educated and honest.
A well informed teacher, A teacher who is ready to answer questions at any time..

A teacher who respects students is in turn respected by the students. A teacher who is dedicated in her work and shows real concern and empathy is highly admired by her students. Students believe in a teacher who lives an upright life, one who "walks the talk" and thus inspires students. I quote here a phrase that I like so much: "Modern man listens more willingly to witnesses than to teachers, and if he does listen to teachers, it is because they are witnesses" (Paul VI, Evangelii Nuntiandi, 1975).
Great answers here. I would also say a teacher who takes an interest in his/her students (in a healthy way, of course!). For example, asking them how their part-time job is going, their favorite sports team, or their after-school club/circles. I also believe in leading by example and try to have high ethical standards not only on campus but also off.
A teacher who is being stern and friendly. Students are willing to be corrected if they did any mistakes. At the same time, they wish to have a teacher who is friendly to bring colours in their life.
