The selection of sustainable and smart materials, such as low-carbon concrete, smart glass, and pollution-absorbing pavements, contributes to the project's environmental performance.
The incorporation of renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind systems, as well as cogeneration and energy recovery solutions, improves energy efficiency and reduces emissions. Sensors and IoT devices allow real-time monitoring of structures and resources, optimizing water and energy use while enhancing safety. Modern construction techniques, such as prefabricated modules and 3D printing, speed up the process, reduce environmental impacts, and increase precision.
Projects should also include solutions for sustainable mobility, such as infrastructure for electric vehicles and efficient logistical planning. Environmental certifications (LEED, BREEAM, AQUA-HQE) and compliance with local standards ensure alignment with global best practices. Finally, industrial automation and the use of artificial intelligence for predictive maintenance enhance system efficiency and reliability, aligning the project with Industry 4.0 concepts.
