Yes. In papers, author can not explain his intitution of slecting Membership function . MF slection is depends on the understanding level of the dynamic system. Recently researchers using optimisation for selecting the range membership function parameters. . If you have good knowledge about system you can develop accurate inference system.. Generally it's quite difficult.. Use ANFIS if you have input and output data
