Consider the inequalities that exist between teacher and pupil. The works of Paulo Freire give important insights to this matter.
Dear Gamze, there are systemic factors that increase inequity in the classroom. One example is the mere act of judging achievement. Upon entry to school, the difference in student prior knowledge and skills is enormous, as much as 3 or 4 years. If schooling was equitable this difference SHOULD decrease throughout schooling. Data shows that for some groups of students, the difference in fact increases through the compulsory years of schooling. The problem seems to be the way the mindset of students, particularly those who begin schooling with a relative deficit in knowledge and skills such as low SES students or First Nations peoples. Persistent judgement as 'failures' reinforces negative stereotypes and mindsets, leading to lack of engagement, low effort and limited improvement through school.
What is in the inequality are you interested? and for what reasons? e.g. Language of communication, racial discrimination, freedom of expression and participation, psychology, access to opportunities, inter-generational privileges, cultural differences and empowerment, content and context of the curriculum and culture of the school, content and context of knowledge and production of knowledge, knowledge privileges, impact of their socio-economic relationship..... and after finding out the inequalities, then what?... I assume to answer that you would need to understand the histories and futures of the oppressed and oppressors? Why do you think there is inequality, in what way, what does equality mean from both agents' perspective?
Factor 1: Who is causing the inequality against who? Is it racial, ethnic, gender, freedom of expression, freedom of choice? What or who basically?

The extrinsec influences influence communities and their institutions, but the most important factor is: the commitment of the teacher and with that, changes will happen.

I agree with all the comments above but would add that in addition to commitment as suggested by Ned above, one has to consider the qualities each teacher brings to the classroom. Do they genuinely care about each student, do they lay aside any biases they may have toward certain kinds of students, and are they committed to reaching and teaching each individual in their classroom?
