What are the factors affecting face recognition ?

I am researcher working on improvement of face recognition by not working on the new features but improving the features using some pre processing techniques. Can anyone tell me any paper or name some factors which can be useful for my research ?

Hi Akhil, I've been working in some face recognition project before. In my experience, the qualities of facial images are affecting the recognition result. Those factors can be the lighting condition, facial pose variation, etc. If you want to recognize based on the specific mimics/expression, you may consider Facial Action Coding System (FACS) proposed by Paul Ekman. There are 46 FACS that you can choose depends on your research.
