I am carrying out research on the topic " OIL CONTAMINATED SOIL AS POTENTIAL MATERIAL FOR STRUCTURAL AND CONCRETE WORKS (with particular focus on remediation techniques). I find the work interesting.
According to studies crude oil in concrete hinders the bond formation between constituent materials (Aggregate,Water and Cement Contain )and Results in segregation of it which is an important issue to taken into account.
In case of Soil it results in alteration of geotechnical properties which is also cause for worry. Contamination has been proven to alter the geotechnical properties of soil, and researchers have extensively studied the properties of contaminated granular soils.The results of this study indicated that an increase in the angle of internal friction, maximum dry density, compression index, and Atterberg limits as well as a decrease in optimum water content and cohesion occur as the oil content increases. which will change the designing process and many important parameters like SBC used , different Designing and Construction Techniques to Deal with the heavy metal and their Effects on Structural Elements which are Present in Contaminated soil .
