Thinking about digital technologies used in agriculture to my mind appears at first sub-area specific farm management including sowing density, fertilizer application and plant protection in order to maximise material use efficiency. This became possible due to yield maps and sensors on the one hand and on the other hand machinery able not only to change settings on a small skale both in lateral and longitudinal distribution but also capable of processing large amount of data during work in order to directly react.
The process of integrating cutting-edge digital technologies like AI Technology, big data, automation, autonomous aviation systems, sensors, and network infrastructure into the farm production system is referred to as the “digitization of agriculture.” Digital farming involves the use of varied technologies, including sensors, drones, precision irrigation systems, GPS-guided machinery, and data analytics and machine learning tools. Technological transformation refers to the application of modern agricultural technology to increase productivity. Agriculture production can be supported by the adoption of modern farming technologies such as agriculture equipment, better-quality seed varieties, and fertilizers based on the inorganic compounds. The adoption of digital technologies can help India to increase agricultural productivity, reduce waste, increase agricultural export, increase farmers' income and improve food and nutrition security. Apart from this, this will help in protecting environment and sustainable development of overall agricultural sector. E-agriculture strategies help rationalize resources and holistically address ICT opportunities and challenges for the agricultural sector in a more efficient manner. Such strategies also help to generate new revenue streams and improve the livelihoods of rural communities. Technological advances appeared eventually, in agricultural development in India. The introduction of tractors was followed by new tillage and harvesting equipment, irrigation methods, and air seeding technology, all leading to improved quality of the food and fiber.Agricultural transformation is the process that leads to increased farm productivity, making farming commercially viable and strengthening interlink ages with other sectors of the economy. Digital transformation helps companies implement technologies and best practices for faster product creation, enhanced customer experience, and agile business models. These technologies are competent enough to respond quickly to the shift in market trends, customer expectations, and competitors' strategies.
