Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) does not live up to the expectation of environmental lawyers and environmental engineers. In your own opinion, how can the EIA process therefore be made more meaningful in a bid to ensure that it lives up to its expectaion? Discuss.
Engaging all the parties concerned and giving them enough facilitation to do the work. The challenge I see is rushing of the process of the EIA due to small budget given by proponents. I think NEMA should ensure that a lot of money be set aside for the work.

In short, yes there is a conflict generated by the lack of commonalities between those who make the law and those who apply it, in this case, the engineers.
Enormous funding, Morality of the scientific group carrying over the assessment (accuracy of research and examination, survey and report), the reliability of Environmental lawyers and managers in decision and policy making, execution by Government with clean hands in protecting environment, devising plans for public benefit...everything plays an important role.
There are some main differences between the three, and that's why conflicts may be there, too.
EIA is done by assessors as the name implies, often left by ecologists or environmentalists. Environmental Engineers are not necessarily ecologists, although they have the background knowledge of the discipline. And lawyers...well, their job is very different dealing with regulatory, legislation, etc.
It's the luck of mutual goal that makes them compete, overlap, and playing avoided 🎯 games.🤷♀️
