This question seeks to identify the challenges faced with regards data collection on researches about Industry 4.0 in Supply Chains
Industry 4.0 has to do with the 4th industrial revolution. I think getting useful data for research projects in industry 4.0 is easier since such are cyber-physical based and mostly uses shared information on the cloud.
However, for SCM projects one need to break the chain into its interacting component before seeking for relevant data( mostly (secondary) through the internet.
NOTE: All industy 4.0 firms supports internet of things(IoT), which makes the data much more easily available and it save you alot of cost in terms of time and money.
Getting for-profit companies to allow you access to their data and ideas for implementation of the ideas
The current fourth technological revelation, known as Industry 4.0, is motivated by the development of the following factors:
- artificial intelligence,
- cloud computing,
- machine learning,
- Big Data database technologies,
- Internet of Things.

I feel that,
1.Data collection is not the problem because of IT,AI,Big data updated technology.
2. Problem are in the incorporating the Ind.4.0 applying methods in simple from guidelines to setup and assessment.
Hi Vadivel. Thanks in participating on that. Data collection would be related to the research, for instance, surveys! For the industry 4.0 itself I agree it would be a minor issue
Indonesia has announced 'Making Indonesia 4.0' in April 2018 prioritized in 5 sectors. Data collection would be related to collaboration all sectors and start with the existing data.
I think identify activities in automation will help us to know the IR position for example IR the position IR 3.5 etc
