I am looking for the best research methods book or any other open source which involves choosing appropriate research methodologies and methods. I have IUATLD's "Research Methods for Promotion of Lung Health" and Creswell's "Research Design Qualitative, Quantitative, and Mixed Methods Approaches" books. I am trying to find up-to-date considerations in researches related to cardiopulmonary rehabilitation or physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Does anyone have any recommendations?

I believe that the best overall research methodology book is "Educational Research: Planning, Conducting, and Evaluating Qualitative and Quantitative Research" by John W. Creswell. Mine is the 3rd edition (2008), but there may be a new edition out by now. I like it because it is easy to read, has plenty of examples, and covers both quantitative and qualitative methods. However, it is not a substitute for the nuts of bolts of these methods.
I think you should also go through articles and journals related to your field to see how research has been designed and executed and which statistical tests have been used.This will give you a fair idea for the different books available on research in different fields.
