Establish clearly your research problem / problem statement and research objectives
Perform rigorous literature review on all materials you can access e.g. journal articles, conference proceedings, text books, theses / dissertations etc.
Perform your analyses & syntheses on those literature you'd reviewed
Write the the above and including summary & conclusion / next step.
