I have a question. What are the alternative terms for defining a research overview conducted through systematic searches in databases? I am aware of "systematic review" and "scoping review." Currently, I am working on a research overview to gain an understanding of the research area and identify research gaps. Initially, I have considered defining this as a "scoping review." However, due to the limited scope of the research area, it has been challenging for me to be fully systematic, as I have also wanted to pursue leads I have encountered along the way, which has led me to adopt less systematic approaches as well.
