We are comparing the Engineering Properties of Pavement Blocks Produced from Plastic Wastes with those produced from Cement and other Clay Materials
Plastic pavement blocks are less brittle than concrete pavement blocks.
Plastic pavement blocks are more elastic than concrete pavement blocks.
Plastic pavement blocks are poor condutors of heat during the day, hence emit less heat during the night while concrete pavement blocks are better conductors of heat during the day, hence emit greater heat during the day and night causing some inconveniences.
The main advantage of pavement blocks produced from waste plastics would be its sustainability and economic advantage. However, the pavement blocks with waste plastic is expected to have higher ductility compared to that of conventional blocks but may exhibit lower compressive strength.
