How can i relate Carpooling with Civil Engineering specially Transportation Engineering?
I want to start a Business Project in Pakistan with this idea. How much it would be beneficial for Transport system in Pakistan?
It might be interesting to look at the re-assignment of trips to the modes due to the changed generalized cost of traveling due to the introduction of car-pooling. Examining the time and monetary cost of car-pooled travel would be an interesting thing to do.
To a transportation engineer it is a way of demand management. As a direct consequence, one will expect a reduction in the number of vehicles plying the road and coequently may have an impact on CO2 emission, traffic congestion and also reduction in number of accidents.
For the carpool or car sharing, how to easily park the car to take and give back in big city, is a big problem. Maybe you can research something on how to build a place that can easily take and give back a car, can park as much as possible volume, with very lower operating cost every day and every year.

It increases accessibility and reduces traffic volumes as well as commuting costs for the workers who cannot access their workplaces by other transportation modes. El uso compartido del automóvil es una propuesta que ha surgido en las ciudades en las cuales el nivel de tráfico es elevado; se podría esperar que esta idea fuese de gran acogida entre las personas, pero existen barreras que impiden el funcionamiento de este tipo de planteamientos, una de estas barreras esta relacionado con el tema de la seguridad tanto del propietario del vehiculo como la seguridad de las personas que comparten el viaje. Luego el tema de el uso de la propiedad particular o personal de un automóvil y su relación con la prestación de un servicio de transporte que bien puede considerarse publico. Básicamente estos serian dos grandes impedimentos que tienen mucha influencia en la implementación de este tipo de ideas. Ahora bien de lograr superar estas barreras los beneficios aportados por la aplicación de este proyecto tendría relación directa con la disminución de la cantidad de contaminantes ambientales, se mejorarían los tiempos de los recorridos (mejoras en la movilidad) y podría de una forma u otra mejorar la economía de las personas que participen dentro de esta iniciativa.
