I have recently joined a research lab and am looking for some challenging topics to work on. Our research group mostly studies membrane curvature-its generation, sensing, and implications. I am mostly interested in the optics that can be developed to enhance the understanding of membrane curvature, cell trafficking (something on that line). I am looking at recent literature but also wanted to reach out to other people who are working in a similar field and have an in-depth knowledge to suggest few ideas.

there is so many different techniques in optics for study of biological samples. I think digital holographic microscopy might be a good option for you because you can study dynamic and online processes with an accuracy of a few nanometer more and less...
